DARK CASTLE I WALKTHROUGH AND SECRETS




RED KEY

First grab the PIPE BOMBS in front of the platform and go thru the small door into the Vein Room. Use them on the pigcops below but watch out for the one climbing the stairs. Do as much damage as possable and then finish them off. Grab any SHOTGUNS they may drop.

SECRET 1: 
At the bottom of the stairs next to the machine is a hidden platform with a HOLODUKE on it.

SECRET 2: 
Look for the skull on the far wall in the Vein Room. Click it to open a door close by with ATOMIC HEALTH and PORTABLE MEDKIT.
On one side is a lift that is locked and the other an opening into the MAZE. See MAZE OVERVIEW GIF if you need help getting thru it. There are drones in the maze which are unwise to tangle with. The best thing to do is if you hear them activate is to run like hell. Trying to fight them will get you hurt. On the other end of the maze is an octabrain caged up. Kill it before it blasts you. There is a SHOTGUN and extra SHELLS by the cage in case you need it. Go up the stairs into the DINING ROOM. Here 4 pigcops and a fat commander are kicking back. Kill em and then go to the corner behind the big chair for a PORTABLE MEDKIT.

SECRET 3: 
Look for a pool of blood on the floor close to the door. It trickles from under a hidden door holding a RPG.

Go back out the door and you will see a ledge on the other side with an ATOMIC HEALTH on it. jump onto the maze wall to get to it. Beware! Walking on the maze wall may attract the attention of any drones still in the maze.

Go back up the stairway. Halfway up is a cross on an alter. Kneel before it and push to reveal a DARK CHAMBER. Make your way thru the darkness towards a skull and two security screens. The left screen shows the door that the switch opens inside the dining room behind the barrels. The other shows a button you need to reach and then a shot of one of the dining room walls with a red X over one area. Leave the dark chamber and find the place marked with the X. Push and another hidden door will open to an alter with a JET PACK. You will need this to reach the button shown on the security screen which is at the end of the vertical tunnel above the HR Giger painting. Go into the room behind the barrels and useing your JET PACK fly up to where the button is. Watch out for the Octabrains lurking about but don't try to kill them. You only have enough JET PACK to get up to the button and safely return to the ground. Messing with the Octas will be fatal unless you plan on riding one of them back to the ground. (Not recommended). If you do get delayed (and you probibly will) try free falling for a couple of seconds to save your jetpack fuel.

Back at the bottom, exit the dining room and you'll see the maze is gone and replaced by 6 pillers leading to the far corner where a door has opened. The first three jumps are standing jumps you can make easily but the last three are running jumps so get as much run as you can and aim for the nearest corner. Kill the cages Octabrains before you get too close of they will blast you right off the piller. Jump to the open nitch in the wall and get the RED KEY

SECRET 4:
You can either get to this secret after you get the atomic health on the other ledge by jumping the maze walls or wait and do either or both from the pillers tho without STEROIDS it is impossable to jump from the ledges back to the pillers. You'll have to jump down to the ground and reclimb the stairs each time. I suggest trying to the ledges from both the maze wall and the pillers because each has its pros and cons what with the drones and all. To the left of the 5th piller is another ledge. Jump down to it and then climb the icy stairway to the ice cave and grab STEROIDS, NIGHT VISION, & ARMOR. You can use the STEROIDS to get back to the 5th piller and make the last two jumps with ease.

Take the RED KEY back out to the platform where you got the pipebombs and use it to unlock the first big gate and the lift in the Vein Room. 

YELLOW KEY

Use the lift to enter the BOILER ROOM. Get the CHAINGUN from the corner. And then go to the Gearbox on the opposite corner. Jumping on it will raise some steps around the boiler allowing you access to the skull button on the chimeny. Press this skull and a raised path emerges from the floor allowing you to get to the pentagram door. Go thru this door and decend into the bowels of the castle. Go steady but beware of a deadly pitfall in the dark. Use your NIGHT VISION to see the pit which is at the bottom of the incline. The ground levels out into a WHITE TUNNEL. You'll see a locked door that you will need to find the YELLOW KEY to get past. Go towards the stone tunnel and at the end a hidden door opens once you're past it closes trapping you inside. Pass thru another door and find the 8 DOOR ROOM. Check out what is behind each door. Three hold enemies, two hold ammo and one holds the YELLOW ACCESS PORT and a SECURITY SCREEN (showing the door you passed and the PULSING ROOM. No need for details as to which door is which as they all look alike and with out the automap you soon forget where you came in, but remember there is no floor. Dropping won't kill you but you might miss a door unless you try them all first. After you've open all the doors you may have figured out the only way is down. Jump into the shark infested vents below. There you will see 4 ways to go. Two make up a loop one will take you to the YELLOW KEY and one will take you back up (down) to the 8 Door Room. Try to find the loop first. It is the one with sharks in it. It also has your SCUBA GEAR and you'll need it. In the little room with the YELLOW KEY you will see another pool of water before you and a dropoff off to the left. Jump down the dropoff into and you will be behind one of the 8 doors. Find the door with the ACCESS PORT and use the key. Then you have to drop off into the drink again and go back to the room where you got the key. This time go into the other pool, down to the end and back out. Go down the stairs and push the button. A door will open and you will once again be in the white tunnel just a few steps from the Red Door that the yellow key unlocked. 

BLUE KEY

Travel down the tunnel of windows to the end.

SECRET 5:
At the end is a hidden door revieling more SCUBA GEAR among a mass of guts. Grab it. You may need it.

At the end of the hall on the right is a false wall. Go thru into the pulsing room. The room is the outer skin of the Great Beast the Dark Castle is built upon. Enter the cut on the floor into the pool of blood. At the bottom is CHAINGUN AMMO. Travel into the passagway until you encounter a nest of hatching eggs. Destroy them before they hatch or you'll be overwhelmed with brain suckers.

Secret 6:
On the left wall of the passage just before you reach the nest is a false wall. Behind it is RPG ammo to help with the eggs-termination. 

Keep on going until you enter another chamber guarded by two Octabrains. Kill them but if you use the RPG be careful not to hit the PIPEBOMBS. They may come in handy. Go up thru the crack above and out of the blood. In this chamber is a crack in the wall. Blow it up with the bombs or the RPG. Enter the new wound and make your way down the passage.

SECRET 7:
You will come to a place where you will have to jump up to. Just past that on the right is another false wall and more RPG ammo.

At the end it will open up into the stomich. Here you will find a miniboss, the BLUE KEY and an army of troopers. Below the opening is a DEVESTATOR and a bunch of AMMO to give you the edge but to get to it you have to jump down and once your in there's no going back so try to take out as many troopers as you can from up top. When your done kicking ass get the BLUE KEY and enter the little pool of digestive fluid at the top of the incline. Travel thru the bowel of the Great Beast to the end and climb out of the green pool but be quick or you will find yourself being digested also. Out the passage and you will find AMMO, STEROIDS and a PORTABLE MEDKIT. Follow the winding passageway to the end and a wall will drop letting you thru to the courtyard where the platform sits. Use the BLUE KEY to unlock the second gate.

Open the gate to access the final room. Here are three lizards ready to blow you away. Kill them first. Past them is a FRACTAL PILLER. On either side are high ledges which lower when pushed but again beware. Also up on the ledges are more lizards ready to pounce. Get the ammo and kill the remaining lizards. 

At this point check your ammo. If you're guns aren't fully stocked its best to go back and collect any you couldn't carry the first time. When your ready, save the game and on the far side of the fractal piller is a recessed button. Shoot it and run like hell because behind you the door opens to reviel 2 more mini bosses. Its best to back out to the courtyard area and keep shooting. After you put them to rest. Go back inside past the fractal piller to the nuke button.
